Energy Efficiency Audit Scheme for the Manufacturing Sector
INVITATION TO APPLY
The Ministry of Industrial Development, SMEs and Cooperatives (Industrial Development Division)has, in line with the announcement in the Budget Speech 2023/2024, launched an
Energy Efficiency Audit Scheme for the Manufacturing Sector with the objective to support manufacturing enterprises willing to embark on an energy efficiency audit exercise with the ultimate aim to accelerate the transition towards a Carbon Neutral Industry.
The Scheme provides for a one-off grant of
75 percent of the energy audit costs, up to a ceiling of Rs 300,000, to be incurred on production sites of manufacturing enterprises.
The Scheme is applicable to
Large Energy Consumers in the Manufacturing Sector (excluding enterprises in sugar and energy production) having a production site with
an average annual energy consumptionexceeding 100 tonne of oil equivalent (toe), over the last two years.
Eligible enterprises, willing to benefit from the Scheme, should fill in an application form which is available on the Ministry's website athttps://industry.govmu.org/ and forward same, together with the required supporting documents, to the Senior Chief Executive of the Ministry of Industrial Development, SMEs and Cooperatives (Industrial Development Division), Level 7, Air Mauritius Building, John Kennedy Street, Port-Louis.
The envelope should clearly indicate on the top-left corner: 'Energy Efficiency Audit Scheme for the Manufacturing sector'.
